It’s not often that I get to photograph here in my hometown of Prattville, Alabama.  In fact, it’s kind of a rarity that I get to photograph a wedding here.  So getting a couple like Jamie and Emory to secure me for their wedding day here in Prattville was pretty awesome!  I love to travel for weddings……..it’s just nice to wake up and go to sleep in my own bed on a wedding day.

This was the perfect low key kind of wedding I was needing to close out March of 2019.  Jamie and Emory had a pretty tight group of family and friends that attended their wedding.  The Marriott here in Prattville where all of our getting ready images took place is located on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.  The scene outside is actually quite beautiful, and the lighting is ideal for natural light images.

It was so cool to capture candid images Jamie and her daughter throughout the day.  Especially in the morning when Jamie and the bridesmaids was getting ready for the day.  There are several precious moments of Emory dancing with Jamie’s daughter during the reception also!  There’s a really serene cottage area not far from the hotel that has a gorgeous scene of a bridge and beautiful blooms we were able to walk to for bridal portraits.  The groom and groomsmen images were literally taken right outside one of the exits of the hotel, you can see part of the RTJ golf trail in the background in some of those images.

After the ceremony concluded, we decided to utilize RTJ for Jamie and Emory’s wedding day portraits.  You can literally shoot outside the back of the clubhouse for days and still come up with different images, and you’re not disturbing any of the golfer’s game by being there.  Most will cart by wishing the couple congrats on their marriage which always puts a smile on the couple’s faces :-).  It’s a great spot to photograph here in Prattville, and the landscape is always in pristine condition.  There’s a stellar flowing fountain out there, and a section overlooking the Alabama River where you can see the landscape of Downtown Montgomery.  I’m actually surprised there isn’t more weddings that take place out here!!

The reception was a great celebration with family and friends!  Great food, and lots of dancing!!  I really loved the way Jamie and Emory’s day turned out, and enjoyed photographing everyone’s hard work to make their day extra special!  I put a lot of work into the images, countless hours curating and color correcting.  Having the bride text me letting me know that she loved how her images turned out will always be special to me!
