I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting with Meg or William prior to the rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding day. Capturing their rehearsal dinner immediately told me a familiar story that these two are loved by so many, and loved deeply by each other. Getting a few minutes to chat and photograph the two of them that night was all I needed to get excited about their wedding day.
Meg and William’s wedding day was definitely one of the most elaborate and beautiful of wedding’s we have photographed in 2017 thus far. So thankful that Jill from AG Events shared us with Meg! The Tutwiler is one of the infamous historical spots in downtown Birmingham for brides to get prepped for the BIG day. It’s a no brainer that all of our getting ready images and individual portraits were taken here at the hotel which turned out magically. Great natural light all around for a lot of medium format and 35mm film images. Really rad bonus elements to work with such as the trolley transportation with Meg and her girls was super fun heading to the church for the first look and ceremony to follow.
Before heading back to downtown Birmingham for the couple portraits and reception, I happened to walk on the trolley before we all departed only to find Meg and William having the time of their life with all of their friends. Impossible to pass up that genuine moment of the two of them on the trolley for sure. The Haven is a really nice space in Birmingham, and it’s a open canvas for event designers. I’ve been to the venue a couple times prior for styled shoots, but this was my first time capturing the Haven in a real wedding setting. Completely unbelievable how Jill and her team transformed the space here. I’ve certainly never seen the Haven like this before, completely magical and gorgeous. The Main Attraction Band put on one amazing show, and the reception really felt like a concert venue more so than a wedding reception.
It was one incredible and beautiful party! Meg definitely had one of those fairytale weddings so many brides dream about, and it was an honor to be a part of that experience for her. Super sweet couple to hang out with all day, with amazing family & friends supporting them every step of the way make the entire experience truly unforgettable.
