A lot of people are surprised when I explain to them that I am a wedding photographer based out of Prattville, Alabama, but I am extremely lucky if I shoot one or two weddings in Prattville, Alabama a year! This is one of two weddings I was able to muster up for the year in my hometown. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the First Baptist Church located in downtown Prattville, which was awesome seeing how my studio and home is just a five minute drive from downtown. That’s beyond refreshing considering how much traveling I do around the state for wedding days:-). Hannah and her family are the example of the sweetest most perfect bride and family to work for. I was able to capture their engagement and bridal sessions which always makes for really feeling comfortable with the couple during the wedding day. One big challenge we had on the wedding day was finding locations outside to document bridal, groom, and couple portraits throughout the day. Typically not an issue shooting at this church, but on this day the city of Prattville was holding their annual city festival that day in downtown. Which kind of worked in our favor forcing us to uncover some new and different nearby locations that I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards. Not that Hannah and Michael wouldn’t photograph beautifully no matter where we ventured to, but I really didn’t want festival goers and vehicles in my background! We managed to accomplish the goal flawlessly without the city fest ever being a distraction, as well as ever making an appearance in their wedding images. Loved working inside & outside the church for some images, and definitely loved using the decor from the reception to pull of some rad wedding detail images. Certainly made for beautiful wedding day that totally mirrored Hannah as the beautiful bride she was that day!
