Jenna and Davids Wedding was particularly special for me to photograph because not only is she a close friend to me and my family, but she has also been a part of my team for quite some time now as my primary second shooter for weddings! Over time we have developed a great friendship as people and great camaraderie as photographers working together. Although she was a bit nervous being on the opposite end of camera this go around, I was just as nervous making sure her wedding was captured just as beautifully as all of the other weddings we have done together. She killed it in these images as I knew that she would. It was her wish to have a very small intimate gathering for the ceremony, and then more of a party for the reception with additional guests in attendance. This is a wedding I will always hold close to the chest just because of the history I have with Jenna and her family. My ultimate goal for this wedding was to give Jenna and David’s beautiful day the justice it deserved through their images.
Jenna and David chose to wed in our hometown Prattville, Alabama at her Grandmother’s beautiful house. The place was not lacking in areas to take amazing pictures either. Sometimes it’s easier to slow down and focus on really small wedding settings like this to make some very beautiful images.
Jenna wore her mother’s wedding dress and had it updated and altered beforehand. Totally NOSTALGIC & BEAUTIFUL!
Jenna not only gave her mother a beautiful flashback of her and her father’s wedding day wearing her mother’s dress and lace, but this awesome gift of an embroidered handkerchief. This bouquet was absolutely breathtaking for Jenna courtesy of Dana’s Floral Design.
So rad having Jenna’s mom see her original dress worn by her only daughter so many years later. I can’t even imagine how special and emotional this must have been for both of her parents to see. What incredible memories this must have brought back to them.
You could feel the connection between Jenna and her only bridesmaid and maid of honor, Kayla. The best of friends, you could clearly see the joy Kayla had for Jenna’s happiness was completely genuine.
Pop the champaign! Great details my second photographer Susan Weathington captured of the families celebrating the merging of becoming one as I shot portraits of the bride and groom!
Such a gorgeous and quaint piece of land to photograph on, I remember her grandfather saying while we were taking portraits of these two that I gravitated to the areas on the property that he never would have thought I would have used:-). Like logs and dead leaves on the ground! Perfect setting for the ultimate fall wedding feel to me, and there was great light everywhere we ventured to.
Probably one of the most gorgeous reception set ups I have ever seen here at the Warehouse in Montgomery, Alabama. From the floral, to the lighting/production, to the dessert bar/donut wall, and to the delicious food…..this reception was amazing to photograph!!!
When Jenna got engaged to David, she left most of her planning and design up to Jackie, her wedding planner. I was able to capture their reactions the first time they saw just how beautiful it was!
One of my favorite weddings of 2016, loved the fact that I knew so many of the guests and how incredibly happy these two were the entire day and night! Check out their slideshow video below!
